Main stages of development

2007 – Launch of trichlorosilane production of solar industry grade. Construction of the polycrystalline silicon plant, project managed by Fluor Corporation, commences.

Start of certification process to be accredited ISO 14000 and OHSAS 18001 standards.

2006 – The international company Nitol Solar is established.

State-of-the-art equipment for the production of trichlorosilane, the raw material for producing polycrystalline silicon, is installed.

A representative office of the Company opens in China.

Nitol is awarded several prizes for its social contribution projects across Russia.

2005 – Nitol Group identifies a development path focused on the high tech production of polycrystalline silicon and crystalline silicon wafers for the solar industry. The Company acquires Usolie Sibirskiy Silicon which, together with Usoliekhimprom, provides an integrated complex for manufacturing silicon-based products.

The company raises its first loan through a corporate bond issue.

2004 – Nitol is reorganised into a management company called NITOL Group and acquires Usoliekhimprom. Nitol then identifies an opportunity to develop Usoliekhimprom’s industrial potential through both modernisation of existing production units and entering new segments of the chemical industry.

Nitol’s production facility is certified compliant with ISO 9001 standard. Development and initiation of a comprehensive environmental programme. First audited financial reports by international standards prepared. 

1999-2003 – Development of the cooperation agreement between Nitol and Usoliekhimprom. The enterprise is given an award by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Eastern Siberia “for considerable contribution to development of Russian industry and economics of the Irkutsk region”. Usoliekhimprom products are included on the list of “100 best goods of Russia”.

1998 – Establishment of the NITOL company, with an initial business area of trading chemical and petrochemical products. NITOL and Usoliekhimprom conclude the first contract for sale of Usoliekhimprom products.
